Emulation

This is my emulation, which I has taken the same technique from the copy of a walking dog earlier. I tried to use a piece that would be in my final video, to try a sketchy style on how my video could look.

I started by creating the small illustrations from the motion graphic in illustrator. I used basic primary shapes, which I also followed with the colour pallet. I used a very limited colour pallet with a monochromatic grey style.

I also used gradients on my illustrations to add slightly more detail to keeping within the conventions of a 2D object.

I then took my illustrations into After Effects, and started to add motion, for example the position of rotation of the french press. I then decided to keep animate liquid, which involved moving nodes of the object allowing it to look like it is effected by physics.

After finishing animating my motion graphic, I added the filter/effect over the top of my illustrations. This gave it the 'sketchy' effect found in my copy, which I had continued.

Finally, I added finishing touches such as the steam, and moving coffee in the cup. I the rendered my video and imported all the frames into Photoshop, allowing me to create the small GIF above.
